End of 2011!

Tis the end of another crazy year. It’s hard to keep up with the blogs, due to the fact that i never seem to have the time with all that goes on in life. Trying to juggle tattooing, drawing, art, and the most important family, little time is left to dao anything else. Now working at Needlez and Threadz has been a great change. We built ourselves a miniramp in the back of the shop for our sanity. We get to skate as often as we can, but not as much as we want. The shop is great, and everyone who i work with is awesome. Hardcore Steve

Steve is hardcore. When i met him for his consultation, i realized that he wasn’t messing around. After discussing his sleeve, he set up appointments every two weeks to complete the project. All of his appointments were 6ish hours long (except the one which i had to end the appointment early). Every session is a photograph that you are about to see. The black and grey background was done in 6 hours with a needle configuration that houses 25 needles at one time. 25 NEEDLES AT ONE TIME FOR 6 HOURS! Steve is hardcore.

Diver Nick !

Nick is a diver. He is an instructor at Skydive Perris. He also enjoys recreational scubadiving. When he approached me about his sleeve, he wanted there not to be a water to sky separation. Collaborating with him on imagery, there were specifics to the tattoo. The skydivers are competitive formation divers. When the tattoo was complete he went the the carribean and did both types of diving. On one of his scuba dives there, he got to dive with a grey whale! Nick’s a badass!

After the sucess of my last artshow Self-Aware Manic Depressant many people have asked ,”when is your next show?” I am currently working on the next show, but i have no clue as to when it will be. My life is about art. Everyday i’m working on something, either for a client or for myself. I did 3 shows in 3 years consecutively . Creating over 100 original Pieces of art, and selling out all my pieces. I make my living with tattoos, so the artshows are really special to me because I bear my soul on the pieces, (well,not all of them). Noone contracted me to do any of these pieces, therefor they are all me. I can tell you that by christmas of 2011 I will be producing a childerens book. I’ve been working on this project for awhile and i think that everyone will dig on it. Check my newest original piece(s) at the Sea No Evil artshow, june 25th 2011 @Riverside Municipal Auditorium. here is some artwork from last year. Enjoy.

Been A Long Time

When the economy tanked i sepnt all my energy and focus on work. The blogging in my life was not somthing that i needed to worry about. It’s been a long time since i’ve posted anything. My apologies to anyone who cares. We decided to shut down Che Studios for many reasons, and in March 31st the doors closed for the last time.

I am now tattooing at Needles and Threads. I’m happy to be working with my friends again, and everything is awesome. Work, family, and sanity is great for me now. I will make an effort to keep up on blogs, but i harldy see any comments to them. If your interested in what i’m doing or like what you see, please let me know. All Great Things Must Come to an End

On March 29th, 2011 Che Studios closed it’s doors for the last time. Our studio had a great run for almost 4 years. Che Studios was home to my studio, and Priscilla’s photgraphy studio. The studio was set up as a gallery for shows to be hosted. With so many memerable shows, the biggest sucess was the group art show, We Can Survive. Produced by Daniel DeLeon and hosted by Che Studios, on August 21st the show rasied over $5000.00. The money was donated to the Jonathan Jaques Children Cancer Center. We wish to thank everyone for their support for making all the shows great sucesses. Here are some photos of Che Studios history.

Coachella Music & Art Festival

We were lucky enough to go to the Coachella music festival this year. We made the decision to take our daughter to the festival too. Needless to say we had a blast. Ariel (our daughter) was dancing all weekend and loved it. Highlight of the weekend was meeting DJ Lance Rock, and the characters of the kids show Yo Gabba Gabba. If you have never been to the Coachella music festival, and you love music, do yourself a favor and dont ever miss one again. It is one of music lovers greatest experiance. -Fab

Aaron Hell Johnson

Aaron’s middle name is not hell. A sleeve that we did on him, many years ago gave him this name. Try and guess what the sleeve is about…Aaron has an awesome passion for fish. We talk about it quite extensivly. Hopefully i can get him scuba diving soon. I love tattooing koi fish. It’s the same as a skull,i never get tired of doing them.-Fab

Random New Tattoos

It’s been quite a while since i posted new tattoos. This is a few of the pieces that I’ve done and never had time to post. I enjoy doing singular pieces, but lots of time they end up becoming half or full sleeves. I wish i could remember when some of these pieces were completed. All i can say is that these have been done within the last year (2009). I’m not fond of posting works in process, so stay tuned to see some completed projects.-Fab

Jeremey (7) Taylor’s sleeve

I have a hard time remembering everyone’s name. Jeremey 7 is the way i recognized him for a long time, before we became scuba diving buddies. Jeremy had the vision of doing a sleeve of the 7 deadly sins. This was a challenging sleeve, due to the fact that it’s hard to represent some of the sins into a single picture. Study the sleeve to see how we accomplished this idea. Each piece represents a sin. There are a few missing, due to not having photos of the inner arm. Congratulations Jeremy on recently becoming a dad to a beautiful baby boy.-Fab

Mike Hopsiter’s Sleeve

I don’t remember when we started or finished Mike’s sleeve. It’s been that long (i think we finished it 2008-2009). Mike is the reason i got my first job at a tattoo parlor. We were tattooing at the same time, and he mentioned to me that there was a shop hiring down the street from a skatepark that we always rode at. I got the job, and the rest is history. If i never said it or if you never heard it…. thank you Mike. Everything i have today started with that simple bit of friendship.-Fab

Milissa’s Faerie Sleeve

Milissa’s sleeve was completed in October of 2009. When she came to me with the idea of the sleeve, i had a few stipulations. I wanted the whole piece to look as if the person staring at the arm got a worms eye view of the faerie world. This gave the perspective that the flowers at the top of her arm where as big as trees. Milissa had faith in my vision, having been very happy with the vampire back-piece that we completed a year earlier. The end result is alot of time, patients, pain and collaboration to make this sleeve possible. My thanks to Milissa, for her trust in me.-Fab
